Pastoral Ministry News

• Ministry help needed: The 2^nd Tuesday of the month at New Brighton Care Center (assist Fr. Skluz�ček), and the 3^rd Tuesday (help with Word/Communion Service), 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. The 4^th Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Benedictine Health Center (make Eucharist room visits to Catholics). The 2^nd Friday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at Alterra, a home for dementia and Alzheimer's patients (Word/Communion Service). Can sub or rotate; training and supplies prepared for you. • Blessing of the healing quilts will be on Sunday, October 8, at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. The quilts will then be on displayed in The Plaza. You and your family can come to tie a knot in the quilt and offer a prayer.  When the quilts are given to those in our community who need them, they are then "blessed by the community." A lovely gift.
  

Social Mission News

• SJB FOODSHELF: M-W-F, 10-12, St. Joseph Hall.
  

• Next weekend at Fallfest, Peace Coffee will be served.  We will sell Fair Trade Tea as well. During October - December, we will sell chocolate and Advent calendars... gifts for the holidays, or an Advent calendar for your children/grandchildren. All items purchased through Catholic Relief Services and support Fair Trade. Others now make a living wage because we support this method of being conscious consumers.
  

• Our Jamaican Sister Parish kick-off weekend is September 23/24. We will have Fr. Paul Wilderotter and Gene Huszcza with us to share details about Food for the Poor. Come see how you may feel called to become involved in this sister parish initiative.
  

• We would still "love!" to have a JUSTFAITH group in the fall. If you want to enrich your life by becoming more in tune with Catholic Social Teaching & Social Justice, please call Anne Marie. We have two facilitators ready to go this fall, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.
