BEFRIENDERS will gather on Wednesday, October 4, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  We welcome our 4 new Befriender candidates with a Salad Potluck... you bring the fixins'.

ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7, 8:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., St. John's will host Catholic Charities' 30th Annual Fall Conference for the Separated & Divorced in St. Joseph Hall. This year's theme is Moving from Anger to Forgiveness: How this Affects our Relationships. The cost is $20. For more information, please call Catholic Charities at (651) 603-0251.

ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8, at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, we will bless the quilts made by our quilters. After Mass, the quilts will be in St. Paul Plaza for you to stop by, tie a knot, and offer a silent prayer. These quilts are then given to others in our community who need healing and a reminder of St. John's compassion.

THIS WEEKEND, our Food for the Poor sister parish is featured. We welcome Fr. Paul and Gene who will speak to us about Jamaica and the needs of our brothers and sisters there. Come share hospitality and hear the music of Cyril Paul after the 11:15 a.m. Mass. Think and pray about how you might become involved in this mission.

FAMILIES MOVING FORWARD will be our guests from November 26 - December 3.  Sign ups will be in October. If you would like to sign up now, call Anne Marie, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237. We always need 60-70 volunteers to make this week run smoothly.

St. John's is hosting ISAIAH's Faith in Democracy: Renewing the Promise  in St. Joseph Hall on Sunday, October 15, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. This opportunity will bring together a large number of people in our community to discuss our shared values, the vision of the kind of world we want to live in, and the reality of the world around us.

ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, the Silvertones are sponsoring a trip to the Museum of Woodcarvings in Shell Lake, WI.  The museum has 100 life size carvings of religious scenes, including the Last Supper. Lunch in Shell Lake; transportation included. Fee: $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Applications are in the St. Paul Plaza kiosks. Deadline for registration is Monday, October 2. Questions?
