PEACE COFFEE, Equal Exchange Tea, and Divine Chocolates are available in St. Paul Plaza after Mass this weekend. Pour a cup of Peace Coffee, which produces equitable profits for farmers, frees impoverished people, and offers widespread hope. Due to market factors, Peace Coffee prices will be increased this month.

"According to Pope John Paul II, the Catholic tradition calls for a 'society of work, enterprise, and participation' which 'is not directed against the market, but demands that the market be appropriately controlled by the forces of society and by the state to assure that the basic needs of the whole society are satisfied' (Centesimus Annus, 35). All of economic life should recognize the fact that we are all God's children and members of one human family, called to exercise a clear priority for 'the least among us.'"

JUSTFAITH introduces us to the true meaning of compassion. We are called to be compassionate as our God is compassionate (Luke 6:36). What does the compassion of Jesus look like in the modern world? How do I become a more compassionate person? The JustFAITH programs offered this year help answer these questions through reflection, study, prayer, and community. To learn more,  visit the information table in St. Paul Plaza after Mass the weekend of September 8/9 or contact: Marilyn DeMarais at marilyn.demarais@gmail.com  or (651) 636-5228; or Ann Riley at amriley@comcast.net or (651) 628-9592.

FAMILIES MOVING FORWARD guests will be coming  the week of October 7. Mark your calendars now and sign up by calling Mary Gormley at (651) 783-9354 or Marilyn DeMarais at (763) 360-6197. Your support is appreciated, and lots of volunteer help is needed. Sign up after Masses will be on the weekend of September 8/9.

ABORTION IS NOT A SOLUTION. Planned Parenthood performed more abortions than ever last year, an increase in its business by 21% over the previous year. They put forth an effort in taking advantage of teenagers and young women. Educate your children about the consequences of abortion, and inform them that there are many pro-life organizations available in the Twin Cities ready to be of assistance to those in need.

"IT SEEMS UNEXCEPTIONAL to conclude that some women come to regret their choice to abort the infant life they once created and sustained... Severe depression and loss of esteem can follow."
