Stewardship Notes: Thank You!

YOU CAN ALSO GIVE ONLINE by visiting St. John's website, www.stjohnnb.com, and clicking Online Payments & Contributions. This is a convenient way to make preschool, school, and faith formation tuition payments, too.

THEOLOGY OF THE BODY with Christopher West is for all teens and adults interested in learning about  Pope John Paul II's profoundly beautiful vision of human embodiment and erotic love. By helping us to understand this profound interconnection between sex and the Christian mystery, John Paul's theology not only paves the way for lasting renewal of marriage and the family, it enables everyone to rediscover "the meaning of the whole of existence, the meaning of life." The conference is at St. John's, November 9/10. Please visit www.stjohnnb.com and click on Theology of the Body Conference on the homepage, or call (612) 616-4013.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): Do you want to know more about the Catholic Faith? Have you thought about learning more about the Catholic Church? The RCIA program at St. John's will answer  questions of faith for those who were: never baptized; those baptized in another Christian tradition, but now seeking reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church; and those who just want to know more about their Catholic Faith. If you are interested in joining the RCIA, we welcome you! Please call the Faith Formation Office for more information, (651) 633-1540, and Sister Clarinda will contact you. RCIA is held on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. - to 8:30 p.m., September through May.

CIC (Christian Initiation of Children): This is a program for children, 5 to 14, who have not been initiated in the Church. Children seeking the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Reconciliation & Eucharist), and who will be received into the Church at Easter, need to be registered for Faith Formation as soon as possible. Once the program has started, we will not accept others because there is a learning spiral of materials that builds each week. Please call Sister Clarinda, (651) 633-1540, ext. 1228.

TWO TO FOUR VOLUNTEERS are needed to help facilitate a new Monday Night Apologetics course starting on October 22 at St. John's. The sessions will include two DVD series, one by Dr. Ray Guarendi and one by Patrick Madrid. The themes are: Why be Catholic and What Catholics Believe. If you are interested in this new ministry, please call Dave Clark at (651) 247-6861. Thank you.

JULY WAS A RECORD MONTH; we helped 31 families! Our stocks are very low as a consequence. Your donations, especially while children are still on summer vacation, are urgently needed: non-perishables such as Mac & Cheese; Helper Meals; cereal; spaghetti & sauce; canned corn, green beans, and peas; laundry detergent; and various hygiene products. My God bless you for your generosity.

MY NAME IS ELLEN BINA, and I'll be serving on NET (National Evangelization Teams) Ministries this year. Through NET every year, 100 Catholic young adults (between the ages of 18 - 30) are sent to share their faith with others in a variety of youth ministry activities. As a member of the 2007 - 2008 team, I must raise $3,400 in partnership funds. I am gratefully asking for the support of my home parish, both spiritually and financially. The opportunity to serve for an entire year is a privilege, and while NET needs young people to be involved, most cannot afford to "give up" a year of their lives. Therefore, please consider sponsoring me in my mission to bring the love of Christ to others with your prayers and donations. I can be reached at (651) 633-8039, and NET Ministries envelopes are in the St. Paul Plaza kiosks. God bless you,

Ellen Bina
