Father Sean Magnuson,
Parochial Vicar, Associate Pastor (serving St.
John's 2006 through present)
|
Father Magnuson was ordained a priest on 27 May 2006. He became the Parochial Vicar (associate
pastor) at St. John's
on 14 June 2006.
He celebrated his
first Mass here on 15
June 2006.
Following is his biography in his own words:
I
am a native of the Twin Cities area; I grew up in Little Canada. I
went to grade school, kindergarten through fifth grade, at Sacred
Heart on the East Side of St. Paul where we were parishioners. After
the fifth grade, I transferred to the public school system, and my
family joined the Church of St. Agnes in St. Paul. I graduated from
Roseville Area High School in 1988. After a couple of
years at Lakewood Community College, I enlisted in the Army where I
trained to repair Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided (T.O.W.) Anti-Tank missile systems. In 1991, I
went to Saudi Arabia and Iraq for Operation Desert Storm. Afterward,
the Army sent me to Germany for two years. In 1993, I earned an
R.O.T.C. scholarship and finished my Bachelor of Science degree at
St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, with a major in
Nursing. After St. John's University, and getting my RN
License, the Army commissioned me as a Second Lieutenant and sent me
back to Germany to work at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. In
1999, I deployed to Albania and Macedonia for the Kosovo conflict
with Serbia. In 2000, I entered St. Paul Seminary and
remained there for the last six years until my ordination to the
Priesthood, by Archbishop Harry Flynn, on 27 May 2006. I look
forward to being at St. John's and getting to know God's people
here. Please pray for me. God bless!
