Procedure for Weddings:
Couples wishing to be married at St. John the Baptist should contact Terri Blasiak as soon as they become engaged, and absolutely no later than six months prior to their intended wedding date. She will do the initial intake, and work with the couple to find a wedding date that will work. The wedding date is firmly set only after a $50.00 deposit is made to the Church and after the initial meeting with the priest or deacon assigned to the couple. The couple will also be assigned a “Prepare Couple” who they will also work with alongside the priest or deacon assigned to officiate at their wedding.
Other requirements will also include:
- attending Living God’s Love (the archdiocesan marriage retreat),
- attending a Natural Family Planning Course,
- attending a Wedding Planning Workshop (to plan readings, music, and the liturgy),
- and paying a final fee of $250.00 to cover the costs of the Prepare and Wedding Coordinator. (Stipends for the musicians and officiating clergy are additional)
Please note, that if either party of the has been married in a religious or civil ceremony prior to this engagement, an annulment will need to be procured, and a wedding date will not be set.
